Once a Shakette...

Like most people, I had a part-time job while at Uni. Heard of Shakeaway?

I literally could not have had a better job. It was awesome fun making milkshakes, but, what made it so much better, were the people I worked with. Most of us have managed to stay in touch over the years and arranged various meet-ups which isn't easy considering we were all, at that time, spread across lower-England.

A couple of months ago I found out that two of these ladies were now London-side. And we've started finding some meet-up time once again. Which is awesome! Most recently Jess suggested we go to an art exhibition supporting Shelter.

The pictures displayed were really good, they were all of people who are or have been homeless, the stories behind their situation (in the picture above) were really interesting and moving, it was aimed at making you think twice next time you walk past someone sleeping on the street. The event night was great, they had some performers, including Fyfe Dangerfield from the Guillemots, hopefully they raised a lot of money to support Shelter.

After, we headed to the local BeAtOne. I have the BeAtOne app, which I fully recommend your downloading since it gives you an 'appi hour', essentially two for one cocktails from the hour you activate it. Since there were three of us (Alex had to go early) we got ourselves two each!

Fun times, good catch up....but I think we might be overdue for a big reunion!
