Tough Mudder London West 2014

Tragically, I am still down with a knee injury. It's completely driving me crazy and, though it's on the mend, it was not sufficiently sorted for me to run Tough Mudder at the end of April. But, Ben and the team we'd put together were running, or rather, slogging through the mud as fast as was possible without losing a trainer... Chris, Kate, Imogen and I trekked around the spectator's track in order to watch them overcome the many, horrendous obstacles, all while remaining relatively dry, though not completely mud free.

Now most of these pictures are Chris' because he has the fancy camera and the photography skills that I am generally lacking.

Tough Mudder April 2014

You start Tough Mudder with the Tough Mudder pledge, everyone is happy and buoyant at this point...this is going to change...

The team look happy as they approach the first obstacle we get to see them complete...Arctic Enema. Widely accepted as being the worst obstacle on the Tough Mudder course. A skip full of water and ice with an obstacle you pass under in the middle...so you're fully submerged in the ice...

Do not be fooled by Ben's smile - it's freezing.

See? Lauren understands.

I think this is Boa Constrictor...

Ben is doing OK...

And this one is one of the terrifying obstacles with the electric shocks...and in case you wondered how much they actually hurt, Kiran's reaction is a pretty good thing to go by...

Aaand the last one we saw them do, cage crawl...

I don't know if it's impressive or madness but we've all signed up for London South in October...hopefully my knee will be recovered by then because I'm going a little mad now....
