Cyprus - Part Three

For most people, the wedding is followed by the reception, and then the next day, usually a hangover. While this was true for one or two attendees, for the rest of us, it was followed by a boat trip.

My fantastic Aunt and Uncle, who never do anything by halves, treated everyone to a sail on the Mediterranean.

As if that weren't enough they put the cherry on top of the sundae with a free bar.

How awesome? Extremely, is the answer.

In the sure hands of Captain Laura McGuigan...

...we sailed the seas for a while before dropping anchor in the middle of the ocean, where the crew informed us we were welcome to jump from the second floor...Uncle James didn't hesitate.

And several others were quick to follow.

In an incredible feat of bravery, I....stood on the edge of the boat for about ten minutes before Ben came and held my hand and jumped with me.

We got sailing again and the party picked up as the bar was steadily stripped of it's stock...

Gran started off the pole dancing...

And others were quick to follow, Gran, however, insisted on another turn to show everyone how to do it properly!

Uncle James was clever enough to stay off the pole...

Unfortunately though, he was the first person to pick up the microphone.

Dad, of course, was not far behind him, starting the singing.

About three people in, I heard my name being called and promptly ducked behind my chair which, of course, did me absolutely no good at all. Anyone who's been in this situation will understand that you can only protest so much before it gets good and awkward, so if you're going to do it. Do it right.

Now, judging by little Lucy's face there on the left, I was either really good, or really bad...either way I'm sure people were entertained somehow...but I was glad to hand the microphone back to my Uncle James and get back to my drink! Then Douglas gave us a hilarious number!

Several more songs were sung until we finally decided to depart from the boat that had docked thirty minutes ago, applauding our thanks to my Uncle James and Auntie Kay for an incredible day.

Exhausted, we headed back to the hotel.

Where, after promises of going out again in the evening, only a handful of us made it to the bars for a drink.

Well, when the day is THAT good, you can't expect everyone to be on top form for the evening!
