Chinese and Karaoke

Planned a good five weeks in advance, and yet when the day rolled around we all forgot about it and rushed to shove something together. This actually ended up working out in our favour. First, dinner at Ba Shan which I have to admit, lived up to the hype Dave, Mel and Ben gave it...I don't even have good snaps of the food because the minute it was laid on the table it was picked up and passed about and devoured so quickly that the only picture I do have, demonstrating incredible restraint on my part as, is of my own plate before I tucked in myself.

And a quick snap of the table with the food remains before they too were polished off.

Yeah, you're just going to have to trust me that the food was good because I'm really  not giving you much of an idea here. Anyway, the second part of our planned evening was karaoke, sadly, we were a little late in booking so most of the standard karaoke rooms were booked, but, as I mentioned, this ended up working in our favour...we found this website, the Karaoke Network. And after some hits and misses, Dave got someone very helpful on the phone who said for our group number (10) we should take the Treehouse Cider Bar in Covent Garden. Not really knowing what we were saying yes to, we agreed, given our limited options and were exceptionally pleasantly surprised!

Above Belushi's just off Covent Garden main square is the Treehouse Cider Bar. It cost us £140 to book the room (split ten ways it meant only £14 for a night of karaoke with our own personal bar) and...well, we had a hell of a night.

And...in case you feel like being entertained...Ben and Ben's rendition of Tenacious D's Wonder Boy. Ha!
